Frequently asked Questions

How do we go about booking our holiday?

You can book online or give us a call on 017687 74301.

How do we pay?

We require a full payment upon booking. You can pay by card either online or by telephone. There is a 2.5% charge for credit card bookings, no charge if you pay by debit card. Once payment has been received, you will receive a confirmation via email.

Can we provisionally book a holiday?

We need a full payment to secure a booking - I'm afraid that we aren't able to take provisional bookings.

Can I book a barn for ONE night?

Some of the barns allow you to stay for one night all year round but some of the barns have a two night minimum stay over weekends or a three night minimum stay over Bank Holiday weekends – please check the individual barn details for more information.

Where we have late availability (i.e. 10 days before your stay) over weekends and Bank Holidays weekends we DO NOT insist on a two/three night minimum stay at any of the barns.

Do I need to book out the whole barn?

You don’t always need to book out the whole barn but there are certain situations, when you MUST book out the entire barn for the sole use of your party:

If booking with a child under 5 you MUST book the entire barn for the sole use of your party.

If you are booking with a dog, then you MUST book the entire barn for the sole use of your party.

Some of the barns insist that you MUST book the entire barn for the sole use of your party on Friday and Saturday nights – please check the individual barn details for more information.

Some of the barns insist that you MUST book the entire barn for the sole use of your party on Friday and Saturday and Sunday nights over Bank Holiday Weekends – please check the individual barn details for more information.

Some of the barns insist that you MUST book the entire barn for the sole use of your party in July and August – please check the individual barn details for more information.

Where we have late availability (ie 10 days before your stay) over weekends, Bank Holidays weekends and during July and August, we DO NOT insist on sole occupancy at any of the barns.

Can children stay at the barns?

It is fine for children to stay at the barns but if booking with a child under 5, you must book the entire barn for the sole use of your party.

Can I bring my dog?

Some of the barns allow dogs - you can check which barns accept dogs on the individual barn details. If you are booking with a dog, then you must book the entire barn for the sole use of your party.  We regret that we do not allow dogs to stay in visitor's cars overnight.

What facilities are available at the barns?

Each barn offers slightly different facilities – you can also find out more by checking the individual barn details.

Do we need insurance?

Neither the Lakeland Camping Barns nor Sally's Cottages provide insurance, so we recommend that you get insurance just as you would if you were going on holiday abroad.

What happens if we need to cancel?

I’m afraid that if you need to cancel your booking, then all bookings are non-refundable.

Can we transfer our booking?

I’m afraid that all bookings are non-transferable

What time can we arrive at the barn?

Arrival time is after 4pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the morning of departure.

We will send you contact information for the owner of the barn who should be contacted in the event of a problem at the barn.

Can a barn accommodate any additional people?

We cannot accommodate additional people from the stated maximum at each barn - even if the additional people are staying elsewhere.

Who can stay in a Camping Barn?
