Description of the barn

The Barn is part of a group of traditional farm buildings, at 1,000 ft on the northern most flank of the Lakeland Fells, overlooking the villages of Caldbeck and Hesket Newmarket.

It is an ideal base for exploring the northern fells, and is on the Cumbria Way and Reivers Cycle Routes.

Sleeping accommodation is on the ground floor along with a cooking slab and eating area.

Arrival time is after 4pm on the day of Arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the morning of departure. Key can be collected from the Farmhouse next door.

Directions

Leave M6 at jct 41 and follow signs for Wigton on the B5305. Approximately 3 miles past Unthank fork left for Hesket Newmarket. Go straight up the village in the direction of Netherow. Hudscales is reached by a concrete drive up the left, one mile out of the village.
