Description of the barn

Part of a traditional set of farm buildings dating back to the 14th century, the barn is in an amazing location on the slopes of Catbells in the tranquil Newlands Valley, with magnificent views and only four miles from Keswick. The Cumberland Way passes through the farmyard, and both Borrowdale and Buttermere are in walking distance.

Facilities

The Barn sleeps 12, with mattresses, has a solid fuel stove for heating, coal can be bought from the farm. Hot water and lighting available. Powerpoint in cooking area and shower in washroom on Meter. Lock-Up barn for cycles - private car park. Please note: Using SatNav to get here is not recommended.

Arrival time is after 4pm on the day of Arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the morning of departure. Key can be collected from the Farmhouse next door.
If booking with a child under 5 you must book the entire barn for the sole use of your party.
Sole use 2 night bookings for Friday and Saturday nights, Bank Holidays 3 nights sole use bookings only.

Directions

Leave the M6 at Junction 40 and follow the A66 past Keswick. At Portinscale turn left, follow the Buttermere road for approx 3 miles. Turn sharp left at Stair, take the signpost for Skelgill, up the road for half a mile and then right into Low Skelgill farmyard.
